Well, it's getting close to being finished on the body work. I went by today to pay on the first tail-fin that needed repairs and it looks pretty good. The total was $525, which included repairing some rust holes around the wheel-well area. I went ahead and told them to start the repairs on the second tail-fin. This one had an estimate of $720 for repairs. This is the first time that bondo had to be used, which is understandable. To get a smooth straight line, there has to be a small film of bondo applied to remove any imperfections. If you don't, the only other alternative, is to replace the complete quarter panel on both sides and have them welded on.
I went by and picked up my first order of chrome plating today also. I had 12 pieces done that are basically for the hood and front of the car. They do a pretty good job. The pieces didn't come back perfect but for the price they look real nice. But it's not a show car so it will be only noticeable if I point it out. The chromeing they do is triple plated. They remove all the old chrome and copper then strip it back to the metal. When finished, they apply one layer of chrome. They will apply a double layer for an extra charge.
