Hi all I am getting ready to swap engines in a 67 mercury pickup 4x4 I am removing a 300 straight 6 and installing a 302 v8. Has anyone on this group done a swap in a truck like this. what are some things That I might need eg. special motor mounts or regular 302 mounts for pickups is there only certian years of engines that will work for this swap. as i do not have an engine as of yet .Not intrested in fuel injection. thanks any advise will help

If it's more power you want, I'd go for a 351W. I doubt a 302 could pull much more (if any) than the 300-6, and it certainly wouldn't hold up as

I just completed a similar swap. Lots of things to change and many fabrications. Took about a week, but it can be done. A 302 can be a strong performer with a few modifications. Good luck and have fun.
