i have an old 1972 bmw bavaria that i dont want. i'm trying to sell it right now. when i got it, there was no fuel in the tank. i put a gallon in and tried starting it up while pumping the gas; i did not have any luck.
a friend came over and said to jump in the car, turn the key and pump on the gas while he drips a little gasoline into both of the carburetors. this approach worked fine and dandy. since it has not been running for about 2 years i let it idle for 20 minutes. it ran out of gas again..
so yesterday i ran to the gas station and bought another gallon of high octane fuel and poured it in the tank. i tried starting it but still had no luck.. i cant get a hold of my friend to ask him where or how he put fuel in my carburetors. i'm too scared to try it myself.
my question is has anyone had this same problem? and if they did, where did you drip the gas in the carburetor?
oh and one last thing.. if anyone is interested in buying my 72 bmw bavaria for $2000, take a peek at this webpage i whipped up. i curse the day i bought this car and just want to get it out of my garage.
