My father-in-law, now decesed, had a couple old trucks he used as farm vehicles (one has an old spray-rig on it, the other is a flatbed). I'd like to find someone willing to help me identify them to determine if they have any value. I know one is a Chevy by the emblem on the radiator, and the front wheels have wooden spokes. So it must be pretty old.

What other things can I look for to determine the year so that I can advertise them to someone who may want them?

Any help appreciated. Thanks, Rob Vernon

Might try to look for a VIN on the cab/cowl/firewall/doorpost area, also somewhere on the inside of the frame rails.

Also, look for #'s on the engine block as well.

You could also take a picture and post it to a website.

Grap one or two snapshots of each truck and head to the nearest library or bookstore. You can check the 'Standard catalog of American trucks' (although they may not cover the heavier duty rigs) and any other truck related resources they might have. Good Luck.
