My '56 Thunderbird has me puzzled. The car runs like a top until it gets really warmed up. After it gets really warm, the engine begins to cut out at speeds over 30mph. When you really give it some gas, it acts as if the fuel line is clogged or there is water in the gas. I have checked those things and they are ok. The fuel pump seems ok...Would it malfunction as the car warms up? The onset of the problem was sudden. Any suggestions? Thanks. Larry B.

Check for trash in one of the main carburetor jets. That will cause erratic cutting out at high rpm.

Vapor lock. Wrap the fuel line with some tin foil and see if it makes a difference.

Check to see if the heat riser got stuck.

Don't rule out an electrical problem. I had a coil on my 65 Tbird that had a crack in it and caused a problem only after it heated up. It had me puzzled for weeks until one day I had the hood up after dark and saw the coil arcing. Good luck!

Put an electric fuel pump on it.
