How to search for a classic..

I've recently begun a quest to locate my old highschool car, a 1967 Chrysler Newport Custom, 2 door. I've found one at Cars.Com, south of LA, and I live in Minnesota. I'm THIS close to risking a drive back (about 2000 miles). However, I'd like to try to find one closer to home.

I don't have a mint, but I'm motivated.

Problem is, I don't know how to search for old cars. There seem to be two large search engines, cars.com and carsoup. I can't find others.

Does anyone have any tips for ways to search around for this vehicle? I know someone has one sitting on a farm or something they're trying to sell - someone who might not know to put an ad in one of those two search engines.

Are there any auto clubs that maintain forsale directories in certain regions? Maybe junkyard networks would know if there's a junker sitting somewhere they've been pulling parts out of..

I'm not a car freak, so I really don't even know how to begin looking around.

Check out http://www.collectorcartraderonline.com/. I found my high school car on this, a 1969 ford fairlane 4-door. Luckily I found one close to my home in near perfect original condition for only $2000 (better than those out of state), so maybe you'll get lucky too. Good luck.

Go to a book store and buy a Hemmings Motor News, an Old Car Trader and a Deals on Wheels magazine. You will find thousands. You can also look up these magazines online or go to EBAY Motors and will find thousands.
