King pins have a tapered bolt going through the axle that sits on the flat of the kp.removes this bolt then take out the top frost plug with a sharp punch, then use a heavy hammer and a good sized brass drift, drive down on the king pin, and the pin and bottom frost plug will also come out.Make sure you have a very solid stand or brace under the Stude as the impact can jar the car pretty good.Take note how everything comes apart and replace in reverse order.Be sure to use new pin bushings and new bearing ,You will also get some shims with the pin kit (hopefully) as you have to adjust the clearance with the new parts. It might be to involved for someone that has not had a lot of experience with changing Kp's.If you have a mechanic friend I would try to enlist his help. If you cannot drive out the KP's you might want to take it to a front end shop where they have all the right tools and presses to do the job. Remember safety first. Good luck. Hope this answers your question.

Just the info I needed. Thanks. I am trying to find a replacement for my front spindle so I can run a newer rim/tire combo. I don't feel very safe riding down the road with my wood wheels.

thanks
