Group -

Are there any suggested books on auto repair / auto mechanics / auto restoration that you would recommend for a person looking to get started? Since I have purchased a specific vehicle yet and I'm in still in the learning / research phase I'm looking for something that covers the general aspects of turning a old - hooptie into a daily driver.

Thanks in advance maurice

I would also love to hear any recommendations of books, magazines, websites on beginning this recreation. Surely there are some 'Bibles' in the field.

One thing to do is subscribe to Old Cars Weekly. It is a great publication with lots of info about the hobby. They have a web site, but I don't recall what the URL is.

I was down to the public library and they had several books on auto repair and interior work. The auto repair books should be available from Hemmings or others. I always heard that Hemmings was the bible for parts and repairs. They also have a web site. I like to look at the wsish book tho.

P.S some old motor manuals are cheap and cover alot of the earlier cars as far as specs.
