THE GREAT 'GAS OUT'
It's time we did something about the price of gasoline in America! We are tired of high prices when there are literally millions of gallons in storage. Know what I found out? If there was just ONE day when no one purchased any gasoline, prices would drop drastically.
The so-called oil cartel has decided to slow production by some 2 million barrels per day to drive up the price. I have decided to see how many Americans we can get to NOT BUY ANY GASOLINE on one particular day! gasoline on FRIDAY,APRIL 30, 1999. to do the same. All we need is a few million to participate in order to make a difference. >We CAN make a difference.

Not true my friend. In Europe nearly 90% of the price of gas are TAXES!
My humble opinion is that gas ought to be much more
Good, you pay whatever you want over the pump price, I'm sure the oil companies will welcome the extra money! As for me, I really don't want to pay $1.95/gallon for self-service premium ($1.75/gal for regular) which is the current price in California.
It should also be taxed at a higher rate

Gas out? I remember back in the seventies when everyone was out of gas, and the price went up by a factor of three overnight.
Now, don't get me wrong

No we can't. So, we'll buy extra gas before and then after... Duh! That equals the same amount of gas. The only way you can hurt them is if you figure out how to run an engine on milk. Then the price of milk would skyrocket. They've got you buddy.
Right where they want you.
Now, if we all (not including myself) set our cars on fire that day and let them burn to the ground, that would either take care of our situation or cause water prices to rise.
Who cares, right? Theres plenty of water.
Let's inconvenience ourselves to further get screwed.
That's cool.

Some people don't know when they are well off.
Try the idea of $4.80 a gallon (thats £3.00 a gallon - what we are paying in the UK at present) ! As I'm getting around 15 - 18 mpg at present, I notice the petrol bill despite the low annual mileage
