I have an opportunity to buy a 1966 Pontiac Grand Prix. It's about a 5-yr. old restoration, but not totally authentic. It looks to be in good shape. I don't recall the miles, but it wasn't overly high or low.

It has a 389, slightly bored out, with a 4-bbl, the ever-popular console-mounted vacuum guage, and 8-bolt wheels.

Any thoughts on a decent range of prices for this vehicle?

Thanks, Steve D. in Bham

Lucky you, I just happen to have brought the Old Cars Price Guide to work with me today! Here's the listing:

#1 13000 #4 2600 #2 9100 #5 1550 #3 5200 #6 500

Also, there are only two options of 'extra value' listed: 421c.i. eng: 30% Tri-power (3 two-barrel carbs): 30%

I have the text of the conditions at the following page:
http://www.pitt.edu/~rjmst40/auto/carcond.html

Sounds like a nice cruiser!

That whole 8-lug wheels set-up is actually worth a good bit. I don't konw how much, but a good bit.

I won't disagree with you; they just aren't listed in my newest OCPG. I'd guess however, that's based on their condition. If they're nice, yes, but if they're worn out and chewed up from curbs, then they might be too expensive to replace. Of course, this again is all relative cost, and based on the condition of the car as a whole...
