I wonder where I can buy plastic food on a tray, drive in style, that can be hooked onto my drivers door at car shows and cruise ins. Thanks for anyone's help. Jerry in N.Carolina

Doesn't every fast-food chain serve plastic food on plastic trays?

That is so 'tacky'

Suppose you have a doll leaning forward on your car at these shows too!

If you know anyone visiting Tokyo, give them a list of the foods you want and have them pick them up for you in Asakusa or Kappabashi. You *might* be able to find them in any local Japantown sections where you see them on display as menus.

Try McDonald's. Maybe you can buy some of the plastic food they use in their commercials, you know the ones where the meat sticks out past the edge of the bun? The tray should be easy to come by.

Approximately 8/19/03 09:48, norbert faeth uttered for posterity:

The best place to buy this stuff is in Kappabashi area near Tokyo. Lots of small restaurants catering to multi-lingual diners have their entire menu done in plastic food where you can just point to what you would like to eat.

Have seen the stuff for sale in Japantown in San Francisco as well as on eBay. A quick Google indicates that there are importers as well.
