I'm trying to replace the headliner and carpeting in my 59 Chevy BelAir, and am trying to figure out what colors I should order (I want to match what was originally installed). Do I need 'aqua,' 'turqoise,' 'light blue.' or 'blue?' I don't have a 'book of numbers' or other source that will translate the data plate for me - here's what it says:
Style: 59-1611 Body: FC20173 Trim: 849 Paint: 963E
Is there anyone out there who can translate those numbers into English?

Thanks for the info. I do have a repro sales brochure, but it doesn't cover trim colors - just body colors.
While waiting for your reply I removed one of the trim pieces to look at the headliner fabric - the un-exposed (not faded and not discolored by cig. smoke) is light blue - definately not turquoise. And the windlace is also light blue, and the carpeting is the dark-blue / black tuxedo variety. I guess the trim number on the data plate doesn't necessarily address those components. (This car was purchased from the original owner, and I know that the interior was never modified once it left the factory.) The seat upholstery, by the way, is exactly as you described. The engine, however is (and always was) a 6 cyl. Hummm
Anyway, thanks for the info - I'll surely look for other sales brochures that may provide additional details.
