Anticipating purchasing antique American Car in Canada (has Conn. title) and crossing border at Bangor, Maine. Appreciate info on forms required, duties, taxes, who to call, similar experiences,anyone? Thanks. Joe

If your from Canada, purchasing an american car and bringing it back to Canada there is no tax on cars older than 15 years old. If the car originated anywhere but the US you have to pay 6.1% tax . All cars have a 7% GST charge, And if it has air there is a $100 excise tax. The US border will need the US title 72 hours before you leave the country with the car to do background checks.
